As Team Manager you need to:
Bring a print out/ screenshot of our club entries for the gala, a highlighter & pen. A clip board is a handy bonus.
Arrive to the venue before warm up is due to begin.
Visit the gala reception desk on arrival. Ask for the heat sheets for Enniskillen Lakelanders. They will normally give two copies- one for the coach and one for the Team Manager.
Use your entries list to help you highlight Lakelanders’ swimmers throughout the heat sheets on both copies of the heat sheets.
Double check to ensure no swimmer is omitted.
Pass one copy to the coach and keep one for yourself.
Throughout the day- ensure swimmers are ‘race ready’ 15 minutes before their race is due to begin and instruct them to go chat to the coach about their race before going down for marshalling.
Throughout the event:
•Promote positive team spirit and behaviours
•Do not attempt to ‘coach’ a swimmer; leave this to the coach.
•Do not comment on swimmer performance except to offer general encouragement such as ‘Good luck’, ‘Great job’ or ‘well done’
•Take responsibility for the safeguarding and wellbeing of the swimmers & coach
Should you need to leave the venue unexpectedly, it is your responsibility to ensure the role of Team Manager is covered by another parent in your absence.
