Lakelanders Swimmers Shine for their schools at Ulster Schools Championships
Swim Ulster Primary Schools Cup and Championship was held at the Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex, Bangor on Saturday 29th November 2025. Excited for this opportunity to represent their schools, 22 swimmers across 10 local schools headed to Bangor determined to do the South-West proud and qualify for the All-Ireland Championships held in Dublin in March. Although a school competition, all the students attending are committed members of the Enniskillen Lakelanders swimming club and mustered all their skills and training in competing against the best swimmers from schools across Ulster. A successful day saw 4 podium finishes and an amazing number of swimmers qualify for the All-Ireland primary school championship to be held at the National Aquatic Centre Dublin next year.
Enniskillen Integrated PS

Imogen Neal (10) placed 8th in the 50m Breaststroke taking 2.56 seconds off her PB and finished in the top 20 for the 50m Freestyle, with 1.55 seconds off her PB. Imogen is delighted to have qualified from both races to represent her school at the Irish Minor Schools Championships in Dublin March 2026.
Enniskillen Royal Grammar School

April Huang (12) secured new PBs in both 50m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle.

Jakub Mikiewicz Lumayad (12) clocked a 3 second PB in his 50m Backstroke event, claiming a silver medal, followed by a 4 second PB in 50m Freestyle, securing a bronze medal in his age group. Jakub also qualified for the Irish minor school championship in Dublin for both events.
Florencecourt PS

Zena Elliott (10) claimed new PBs in both 50m Backstroke and Freestyle.
Holy Trinity PS Enniskillen


Charlie Brewster (9) was crowned Ulster Champion as he hit the wall in first place to claim a gold medal in the 50m Breaststroke with a new PB. He clocked another PB in the 50m Backstroke placing 5th, qualifying for the National championships in both races.

Older sister Mollie Kate Brewster (11) secured a bronze medal in the 100m Individual Medley with a new PB. She also clocked another new PB in the 50m Backstroke, placing 5thoverall. She has qualified to compete at the National Championships in Dublin in both events.
Ella Rose Carron (11) collected a new PB in the 100m Individual Medley and maintained her time in the 50m Backstroke.
Emily Irvine (10) was delighted with her performance in the age 10 category, as she secured a 5th place finish in the 50m freestyle in a field of 95 swimmers. She also claimed a 5th place finish in the 50m Backstroke in a field of 67 swimmers. She smashed her individual PBs in both events, qualifying for the National Championships.
Elin O Donohue (11) recorded new personal bests in the 50m Butterfly and 100m Individual Medley. Her standout achievement was qualifying for the Irish Minor Championships in both events.
Isabella Rasdale (11) enjoyed her 2nd Ulster Schools gala, she swam well and enjoyed her first freestyle relay with her school friends.
Amy Swidani (10) secured new PBs in both the 50m Breaststroke and 50m Freestyle races.
The Female 9-12 200m Medley and Freestyle Relays were the last events of the session, and they were certainly worth the wait. The Holy Trinity Medley relay team, consisting of Emily Irvine, Ella-Rose Carron, Mollie Kate Brewster, and Elin O’Donohue hit the wall 9thoverall in the older age group. The Freestyle team of Mollie Kate Brewster, Isabella Rasdale, Emily Irvine and Elin O’Donohue claimed 13th out of the 24 teams aged 12 and under.
Model PS

Patrick Dineen (10) was thrilled to gain new PBs in both the 50m Backstroke and 50m Breaststroke, shaving almost 10 seconds off his entry time in the latter event.
Harriett Cadden (10) gained new PBs in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke, qualifying for the IMS Champs in the latter.

Ollie Elliott (11) enjoyed swimming for his school at the event and maintained his entry times in both the Freestyle and Breaststroke.
Poppy Brownlee (11) also had two strong swims in the 50m Breaststroke and 100m Individual Medley events; and Maia Rolston-McAuliffe (11) took almost 10 seconds off her entry time in the 100m Individual Medley to comfortably qualify for the IMS Champs.
Mount Lourdes Grammar School

Tiana Mbeulani (12) had two great swims coming 32nd over all in 50m Breaststroke and 51st over all in 50m Freestyle.
St Joseph’s College

Kealan Rice (12) had two great swims, coming 13th over all in the 50m Breaststroke and 34th over all in the 50m Freestyle event.
St Michael’s College

Conor Collins (12) achieved two new PBs in the 50m Freestyle and 100m Individual Medley, successfully qualifying for the Irish Minor Schools Championship in the 100m IM.
Eoghan Donnelly (12) clocked new PBs in both 50m Butterfly and 50m Backstroke.
St Naille’s PS Kinawley

Erin Mc Grath (10) achieved PBs in both 50m Breaststroke and 100m IM.
St Patrick’s PS Mullnaskea

Tara Collins (10) was delighted to secure two strong PBs, earning her place in the Irish Minor Schools Championship in both the 50m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle events.
Orlaith Howell (10) came away with 2 new PBs in the age 10 girls 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly and was delighted to qualify for the Irish schools in her Backstroke.
These young swimmers have done their schools and Enniskillen Lakelanders Swimming Club very proud in their performances.
A record number of swimmers have qualified to represent Fermanagh schools at the Irish Minor Schools Championships at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin in March, all now making huge efforts to access training in Omagh Leisure Centre several days per week.
A strong squad of Lakelanders junior swimmers took part in Swim Ulster Future Challengers Meet 2 at Omagh Leisure Centre on Saturday.
Coach Chelsey Weir was there to support the young swimmers who brought home a substantial haul of medal award pins and a raft of new personal times.
6 Enniskillen Lakelanders’ swimmers made the journey to the Coral Leisure Centre Monaghan for Sliabh Beagh Swimming Club’s Winter Cluster Meet on 6th & 7th December.

A squad of 10 Enniskillen Lakelanders’ swimmers attended Dungannon Swimming Club’s 40th Anniversary Gala on Sunday the 9th November at Dungannon Leisure Centre. The gala was a great success for the young swimmers who returned home with numerous personal bests.
Enniskillen Lakelanders Swimming Club held their Autumn Junior Gala on Sunday 26th October, an event aimed at younger swimmers. This was the club’s first Gala in their new temporary base at Omagh Leisure Centre and there was much excitement among the swimmers from the outset with 37 swimmers from Enniskillen Lakelanders taking part. They were joined by competitors from nine other Ulster swimming clubs. For many of the 8-14 year-old competitors, this would be one their first experiences of individual competition, that all important first step for every sportsperson.
11 swimmers from Enniskillen Lakelanders swimming club made their way to the Lisnasharragh Leisure Centre in Belfast to compete at Swim Ulster's Aspiring Champions Meet; the first Gala of the season for swimmers aged 13 and over. The event was held over two days, 18th & 19th October. Coaches across Ulster use this gala to assess and monitor swimmers' skills, providing the scaffolding for the building blocks for success in the coming season.
All the work so far on skills and technique resulted in a slew of Swim Ulster Awards, personal bests and many top ten finishes for the Enniskillen Lakelanders.
Enniskillen Lakelanders kicked off the 2025/26 Swim Ulster competition season on Sunday when 17 junior members took part in the Future Challengers Meet 1 at the South Lakes Leisure Centre in Craigavon.
Enniskillen Lakelanders Swimming Club were well represented on the National stage at the 2025 Irish Age Group National Championships at the University of Limerick Sports Arena last week. Six young Lakelanders’ swimmers joined almost 700 swimmers from over 100 clubs competing over four days of exciting competition.
With the 2024/2025 swimming season coming to an end, the finale for the competitive swimmers from Enniskillen Lakelanders is the Irish Summer National competitions. There is great excitement among the 6 Lakelanders swimmers who have qualified to compete at the Age Group Championships in Limerick.
Thursday 10th July sees the start of the 4 day Irish National Age Group Championships for swimmers aged 14 and under in the UL Sport Complex at the University of Limerick. Six Lakelanders have qualified to attend, two of whom are competing at this level for the first time.
Enniskillen Lakelanders Swimming Club held their annual End of Season Gala last Saturday 28th June. This marks the end of the club's a very different 10 month season swimming in two counties across the FODC council. The gala is an opportunity for swimmers across all groups to compete side by side and a fun relay to round of the event.
